SB 28 - This act adds one circuit judge position to the sixteenth judicial circuit, beginning August 28, 2007, to sit at the city of Independence. The act also provides that, beginning August 28, 2007, one of the associate circuit judge divisions currently sitting in Kansas City shall be transferred to Independence. A majority of the circuit and associate circuit judges of the Kansas City circuit court shall decide which division shall be transferred. This act is similar to SB 589 (2006). ALEXA PEARSON
