SB 76 - This act prohibits the use of expiration dates or service fees on gift certificates. Consumers are entitled to receive the remaining balance of a gift certificate in cash, provided they have used at least fifty percent of the original value of the certificate. Violations of the act shall be considered unfair marketing practices subject to certain unlawful merchandising practice penalties. This act is similar to HB 299(2007) and identical to SB 685 (2006).
