SB 685 - The act prohibits expiration dates or service fees for dormancy on gifts certificates issued by companies. The act also allows the consumer to receive the remaining balance of a gift certificate in cash, provided they have already used fifty percent of the original value of the certificate. Violations of the act shall be considered unfair marketing practices subject to the penalties outlined in Section 407.020, RSMo. MEGAN WORD
