JOINT RESOLUTION

Submitting to the qualified voters of Missouri, an amendment to article I of the Constitution of Missouri, relating to preservation of harvest heritage.


 

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring therein:

            That at the next general election to be held in the state of Missouri, on Tuesday next following the first Monday in November, 2006, or at a special election to be called by the governor for that purpose, there is hereby submitted to the qualified voters of this state, for adoption or rejection, the following amendment to article I of the Constitution of the state of Missouri:

            Section A. Article I, Constitution of Missouri, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 33, to read as follows:

            Section 33. The opportunity to harvest wild bird, fish, and game is a heritage that shall forever be preserved to the individual citizens of the state and does not create a right to trespass on private property, diminution of other private rights, or diminish the authority granted to the conservation commission by sections 40(a) through 46 of article IV of the Missouri Constitution.
