AN ACT

To amend chapter 66, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to Jackson county official term limits.


 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 66, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 66.403, to read as follows:

            66.403. No person shall be elected to serve more than eight years total as the county executive or in the legislature of any county with a charter form of government and with more than six hundred thousand but fewer than seven hundred thousand inhabitants. In applying this section, service as such county executive or in such legislature resulting from an election prior to August 28, 2005, or service of less than two years, in the case of a member or county executive elected after the effective date of this section to complete the term of another person, shall not be counted.
