AN ACT
To amend chapter 105, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the acknowledgment of God.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 105, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 105.007, to read as follows:
105.007. 1. An elected or appointed public official or any employee of the state or a political subdivision, including a school district, shall not be subject to civil liability, impeachment, or removal from office or job, as a result of his or her acknowledgment of God as the supreme ruler of the universe. The provisions of this section shall apply regardless of how the official or employee chooses to make an acknowledgment of God.
2. The attorney general shall defend any action against an individual under subsection 1 of this section.
