AN ACT

To amend chapter 160, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the prohibition of public school athletic teams from participating in athletic tournaments held in municipalities tolerant of marijuana usage, with penalty provisions.


 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 160, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 160.760, to read as follows:

            160.760. No elementary or secondary educational institution in this state that receives any state funds whatsoever shall participate in any sporting event or athletic tournament held within the city limits of any municipality which has:

            (1) An ordinance allowing that citizens who obtain and use marijuana for medicinal purposes pursuant to the recommendation of a physician not be subject to arrest, prosecution, punishment, or sanction; or

            (2) An ordinance allowing that any adult who possesses a misdemeanor amount of marijuana not be required to post bond, suffer arrest, be taken into custody for any purpose nor detained for any reason other than the issuance of a summons, suffer incarceration, suffer loss of driver's license, or any other punishment or penalty other than the issuance of a summons and, if found guilty, a fine of up to two hundred fifty dollars.
