HCS/HB 3 - Currently, it is a Class C misdemeanor for any person to post information of public officials on the Internet with the intent to cause them bodily harm or death. This act extends the crime to prohibit the posting of personal information of any person in the Internet when intended to cause bodily harm or death. The act further repeals a provision of law that prohibited a court or a state or local agency from posting certain personal information of public officials on the Internet without the permission of the official.

This act is similar to a provision in TAT/CCS/HCS/SCS/SB 420 (2005).

This act contains an emergency clause.
