SB 412 - The act defines "safety sensitive positions" and affords those who serve in such positions one additional pay bracket. The act requires that each department have a maximum of three pay brackets per pay grade. Additionally, each department shall administer a study at least every five years to insure that state salaries stay competitive with the private sector. Finally, as of July 1, 2006, each department shall adopt a pay system with twenty-six pay periods annually.ANDY LYSKOWSKI
