AN ACT

To amend chapter 26, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to gubernatorial appointments.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 26, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 26.229, to read as follows:

26.229. The appointment of a member of an administrative board or commission and of a department and division head that is created by law which is required to be made by the governor, pursuant to Article IV, Section 51 of the Missouri Constitution, shall be made with the advice and consent of the senate. The provisions of this section shall apply to all gubernatorial appointments, regardless of whether the law creating the administrative board or commission, or the department or division head, contains a requirement that the appointment be subject to the advice and consent of the senate.
