AN ACT
To amend chapter 304, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to overwidth permits for manufactured homes.
Section A. Chapter 304, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 304.205, to read as follows:
304.205. The chief engineer of the state department of transportation shall not issue a special permit pursuant to section 304.200 for a manufactured home, as defined in section 700.010, RSMo, exceeding fourteen feet in width that is to be transported on any state two-lane road which is identified by letter or any state numbered highway that have shoulders less than six feet wide. A special permit, however, may be issued if the chief engineer of the state department of transportation finds that there is no other route upon which the manufactured home can be delivered to the dealer or consumer. If such extenuating conditions exist, movement of the manufactured home on such routes shall only be made between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The movement of the manufactured home shall be accompanied by a three-vehicle escort.
