AN ACT
To amend chapter 574, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the burning of crosses, with penalty provisions.
Section A. Chapter 574, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 574.065, to read as follows:
574.065. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons with the intent to intimidate any person or group of persons, to burn, or cause to be burned, a cross. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor for a first offense and a class D felony for a second or subsequent offense.
2. For the purpose of this section, a person acts with the intent to intimidate when he or she intentionally places or attempts to place another person in fear of physical injury or fear of damage to property.
