Current Bill Summary

SB 1206 - This act requires all entities that provide child care, health care, or elder care services to submit the employment history of licensed and unlicensed personnel to an acceptable database operated by a not-for-profit or private company. The company must have the capability to access and track various criminal background checks conducted by the state highway patrol and the FBI, employee disqualification lists, and the Family Care Safety Registry.

The Departments of Mental Health, Health and Senior Services and Social Services shall have joint rule-making authority to promulgate the provisions of this act.
