Current Bill Summary

SB 1041 - This act allows law enforcement officers, other than an elected sheriff or deputy, to make a written request for a hearing within forty-eight hours of a dismissal or other disciplinary action that leads to a reduction or withholding of pay. Currently, such officers may request a meeting. This act requires the law enforcement agency to provide a written statement of the reason for dismissal.
