Matthew Crowell Joins Staff Of State Senator John Cauthorn

JEFFERSON CITY - Sen. John Cauthorn, R-Mexico, today welcomed the addition of Matthew Crowell as a legislative intern for the 2003 Regular Session of the Missouri General Assembly.

"Matthew is a great addition to our staff," Cauthorn said. "He's bright, eager and ready to hit the ground running. His talents and assistance will help my office as we prepare to address a number of very important issues this year in the Senate."

Raised in Harrisonville, a community in Missouri's Cass County, Crowell currently is a sophomore at Truman State University where he is a Leadership scholar. He has chosen Political Science as his major and is pre Masters in the Arts of Education.

"This is a great opportunity," Crowell said. "I'm really excited to learn the legislative processes and am looking forward to helping Sen. Cauthorn promote his agenda for his district this session."

Crowell is aspiring to someday be a politician himself and sees this internship as an excellent learning experience that he can apply to both his major and future career.

"It's been a dream of mine to be a politician," Crowell said of his pursuit of a degree in Political Science. "Interning for Sen. Cauthorn will be able to give me a first-hand look at what my future can hold. I'm sure I'll get quite an education in school and at the capital this year."

Sen. Cauthorn represents Missouri's 18th Senate District. Sen. Cauthorn can be reached in the Capitol at (573) 751-6858.
