(Jefferson City, MO)-Today, President Pro Tem Peter Kinder, R-Cape Girardeau, appointed State Senator John Cauthorn, R-Mexico, to the Missouri Ethanol and Other Renewable Fuel Sources Commission. Kinder made the appointment after taking into consideration Cauthorn's commitment to agribusiness in general and ethanol production specifically.
"I am honored to represent the Senate on this important and influential commission," said Cauthorn.
The commission is composed of four members from the House and Senate and three at-large appointees, the panel will make annual reports to the General Assembly as to the commission's recommendations for legislation promoting the ethanol industry.
"I'm going to fight hard to expand the market opportunities for ethanol and other innovative fuels and I believe our work on this commission will expand the opportunities of those in the business of producing and processing ag products, too," Cauthorn said.
