JEFFERSON CITY- Sen. John Cauthorn, R-Mexico, today welcomed the addition of Lesley Lehenbauer as a legislative intern for the 2003 Regular Session of the Missouri General Assembly.

Lehenbauer was raised on her family's grain and livestock farm in Hannibal. She met Sen. Cauthorn through various ag-related associations and meetings.

"I am excited about working with Sen. Cauthorn and the members of the 18th Senate District," Lehenbauer said. "It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the legislative process in Missouri."

Lehenbauer is a senior at the University of Missouri-Columbia when she is majoring in Agricultural Education- Leadership and Communications.

"Agriculture is my family's livelihood and has given me many opportunities. I want to learn more about how bills will affect the agriculture sector," Lehenbauer said, "because I want family farms' to be around for my children."
