AN ACT

To amend chapter 252, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to fishing contests.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 252, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 252.250, to read as follows:

252.250. Any person, corporation, or other entity may sponsor or conduct a fishing contest on any lake without obtaining a permit or other authorization from the department of conservation if:

(1) The contest is part of a multi-state fishing contest or sweepstakes;

(2) There is only one tagged fish with a value not less than one thousand dollars or more than one million dollars per lake participating in the multistate contest;

(3) The tagged fish is tagged by a representative of the sponsor of the contest or sweepstakes in the presence of a representative from the department of conservation;

(4) A fishing license is required in order to participate;

(5) There is no fee or other consideration required to enter or participate in the contest or sweepstakes; and

(6) The contest has a duration of less than thirty days.
