AN ACT
To amend chapter 252, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to fishing contests.
Section A.Chapter 252, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 252.250, to read as follows:
252.250.Any person, corporation, or other entity may sponsor or conduct a fishing contest on any lake having a shoreline of at least one hundred ten miles without obtaining a permit or other authorization from the department of conservation if:
(1)The contest is part of a multi-state fishing contest or sweepstakes;
(2)Only one tagged fish per lake participating in the contest has a value not in excess of one million dollars;
(3)The tagged fish shall be tagged by the sponsor of the contest or sweepstakes in the presence of a representative from the department of conservation;
(4)A fishing license is required in order to participate;
(5)There is no fee or other consideration required to enter or participate in the contest or sweepstakes; and
(6)The contest has a duration of less than thirty days.
