Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 4 - This act modifies the law regarding the hiring of employees for in-home and home health agencies.

New language states that an in-home services provider or home health agency will be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor if they knowingly employ a person to provide in-home or home health services and that person either refuses to register with the Family Care Safety Registry or is listed on any of the background check lists in the Registry. Excluding the employee disqualification list, the Department shall promulgate rules to waive these hiring restrictions based on good cause.

This act contains an emergency clause.
