SB 1214 - This act removes the Missouri Department of Health from the inspection process of milk, and transfers the authority to the Department of Agriculture and the Milk Board.

This act grants the Department of Agriculture and the Milk Board the authority to approve milk to be sold in Missouri that has not been inspected under the state milk inspection laws, if it is has been produced or processed under the laws and regulations set up in other states.

This act also grants the Department of Agriculture the authority to be the official rating agency. This act also allows the Department of Agriculture to independently make the determination of minimum acceptable ratings, using the rating methods recognized by the United States Public Health Service Food and Drug Administration. This act also gives the Department of Agriculture and the Milk Board the authority to promulgate and adopt a single method of rating surveys of milk sheds.
