AN ACT
To amend chapter 217, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to new corrections officer classifications.
Section A. Chapter 217, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 217.162, to read as follows:
217.162. The director of the division of human services of the department of corrections shall, prior to the beginning of fiscal year 2006, create two new corrections officer classifications within the department of corrections. The first of these two new classifications shall have a pay rate at least ten percent higher than the pay rate for a corrections officer I. The second of these two new classifications shall have a pay rate at least ten percent higher than the pay rate for the first new classification. Subject to appropriations, these two new classifications shall become effective at the beginning of fiscal year 2006.
