AN ACT
To amend chapter 333, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to designating a next of kin for funeral purposes.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 333, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 333.271, to read as follows:
333.271. 1. For purposes of this chapter only, a person may designate a next of kin, regardless of blood or marital relationship, by means of a written instrument that is signed, dated and verified. Such designation may also be part of a duly executed will or trust.
