SCS/SB 882 - This act changes the name of the "Missouri Commission for the Deaf" to the "Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing" in the statutes.
The Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Fund is created. The state Treasurer must approve all expenditures for the purchase of goods and services by the Commission.
The Commission allows evaluators of the Missouri Interpreter
Certification System (MICS) to be compensated for their services
and be reimbursed by the Commission. The Commission is allowed
to award certificates for MICS if an interpreter is nationally
certified. National certifications will be recognized for
licensure concurrent with the MICS.
