HB 1918 | Modifies provisions of law relating to evading weight stations |
HB 1918 - This act raises the weight limit requirement on
commercial motor vehicles that must stop at weigh stations. The
limit is raised from 18,000 pounds to 24,000 pounds. This act
also lowers the penalty for evading a weigh station. Under the
act, a person evading a weigh station may be guilty of a Class C
misdemeanor (up to 15 days in jail - up to $300 fine)(rather than
a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than five hundred
dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not
exceeding one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment).
