AN ACT

To amend chapter 660, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the department of social services.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A.  Chapter 660, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 660.026, to read as follows:

660.026.  The director of the department of social services or the director's designee may contract with and provide funding support to federally qualified health centers in this state.  A federally qualified health center is an entity as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1396d(1)(2)(B).  Funds appropriated in support of this section will be used to assist federally qualified health centers in ensuring that health care is available to underserved persons in this state.  Such funds may also be used by federally qualified health centers to support their capital expansion, infrastructure, redesign or other similar uses, in those cases where federal funds are not available for such purposes, and for other services such as dental care and mental health services.
