Current Bill Summary

SJR 18 - This resolution allows persons to serve for two consecutive terms in either house of the General Assembly. After serving two terms a person must wait a term before again seeking election to that same office.

A person may serve two terms as Governor or State Treasurer but, after serving two consecutive terms, that person must wait a term before seeking re-election to the same office. People may succeed from one office to a different office without sitting out a term.
