Current Bill Summary

SB 361 - This act creates the Missouri CASA (court-appointed special advocate) Fund in order to fund the court-appointed special advocate program. Section 476.777, RSMo, creates the Missouri CASA Fund to receive any appropriations, gifts, grants, or other aid. The State Treasurer must invest the money and all earnings will be credited to the CASA Fund. The State Courts Administrator will disburse the funds and must set aside funds for start-up CASA programs. Every recognized CASA program will receive a base rate with additional funding to be based on the individual program's case load. Finally, all CASA programs must be affiliated with state and national CASA associations before being funded.
