Current Bill Summary

SB 30 - This act prohibits private companies or individuals from operating private jails or correctional facilities. It does not prohibit the state from contracting with private companies to provide facilities for specific programs, and exempts the Division of Youth Services.

This act is identical to SB 564 (2000).
