Current Bill Summary

SB 16 - This act creates the crime of theft of transportation of property service, for avoiding payment of a contract for the transportation of property where the transportation provider has delivered the property to the agreed destination and within the agreed time limitation. Intent to avoid payment may be presumed if the payment is not made within the time specified in the contract or if no time is specified, within thirty days of delivery. Theft of service is a Class C felony if the value of the service is $750 or more; otherwise, it is a Class A misdemeanor.
