AN ACT

To repeal section 94.655, RSMo Supp. 1999, relating to transportation sales taxation, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A.  Section 94.655, RSMo Supp. 1999, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 94.655, to read as follows:

94.655.  [1.]  In those cities in which the transportation sales tax has been submitted to and approved by the voters or by a majority vote of the governing body of any such city without submission of the issue to the voters, the transportation sales tax shall remain in effect until repealed by local ordinance in those cities.

[2.  The provisions of sections 94.600 to 94.655 shall expire on December 31, 2001.]
