AN ACT
To amend chapter 253, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to state parks.
Section A. Chapter 253, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 253.125, to read as follows:
253.125. 1. The department of natural resources is hereby authorized to accept or acquire by purchase, donation or agreement approximately eight acres owned by the Newtonia Battlefields Protection Association representing the battle sites of the 1862 and 1864 battles of Newtonia.
2. The department is further authorized to administer, maintain and improve such property at the discretion of the department subject to appropriation and pursuant to this chapter.
3. The property to be acquired shall be designated "The Battle of Newtonia State Park".
