John F. Bass served the people of the 4th District (part of St. Louis City). Born in St. Louis, he graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration; and Washington University with a master’s degree in education and school administration. Senator Bass served in the U.S. Navy; and worked as an educator, school administrator and consultant. He was elected to the Senate in 1981 in a special election and served as Majority Caucus Secretary. (Democrat)
