Jack S. Curtis served the people of the 30th District (Greene County). Born in Hartville, he received his education from Hartville and Springfield public schools; Drury College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree; and the University of Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Laws degree. Senator Curtis practiced law in Springfield; served as city attorney of Springfield from 1941-1942; was the project attorney with the War Relocation Authority from 1943-1944; and a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1944-1946. Senator Curtis was elected to the Senate in 1954, and re-elected in 1958, 1962 and 1966. During the 70th General Assembly, he served as Minority Caucus Chairman. In the 71st and 73rd General Assemblies, Senator Curtis served as Minority Floor Leader. (Republican)
