November/December 2012 — In this edition of Missouri Legislative Update, we preview the upcoming First Regular Session of the 97th of the General Assembly, which begins at noon on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. We also highlight the process of prefiling new legislation, various committee work and newly elected senators and leaders in both chambers. We also take a look and listen to a special holiday concert held in the Capitol Rotunda.

September/October 2012 This edition of Missouri Legislative Update highlights the work of the General Assembly during its annual veto session held in September. This year, lawmakers had the option to consider overriding 13 of the 14 bills passed by the Legislature during the 2012 regular session that were vetoed by the governor. We also highlight the work of various joint committees and the retirement ceremony for dozens of lawmakers who said their good-byes before the start of the new legislative session in Jan. 2013.

July/August 2012 This episode of Missouri Legislative Update highlights several bills which have become law and we take a look at two bills that received the governor’s veto. Also, we highlight interim committee work in the House of Representatives, a new bust for the Hall of Famous Missourians and a recent trip to Taiwan by lawmakers. Also, we take a look at renovation work underway at the State Capitol.

May/June 2012 This episode of Missouri Legislative Update features the final day of the 2012 legislative session with reaction from General Assembly leaders.  We highlight the Legislature’s completion of the FY 2013 state operating budget and several bills sent to the governor’s desk for approval.  Also, House members who are term-limited take a look back at their public service, and lawmakers induct a bust of Dred Scott into the Hall of Famous Missourians.

April 2012This episode of Missouri Legislative Update features the Senate's work on the Fiscal Year 2013 budget and several pieces of legislation approved by the House.  We also highlight measures related to education, elections and social services.  Also, two lawmakers travel to South America for a trade agreement between Missouri and Brazil, plus the 2011 - 2012 Mizzou Men's Basketball team visits the State Capitol.

March 2012In the third episode of Missouri Legislative Update, lawmakers react to the governor's recent veto of two measures approved by the General Assembly. The House approves their version of the Fiscal Year 2013 budget and we highlight several bills moving through both chambers. We also take a look at a newly formed Senate committee and highlight the unveiling of the bust of Buck O'Neil into the Hall of Famous Missourians.
