JEFFERSON CITY — Senators today filed their final measures for the 2014 legislative session, per Article II, Section 25, of the Missouri Constitution, which prohibits bills, other than appropriations bills, from being introduced in the Senate after March 1 in any regular session without the majority consent of those serving in the Senate. More than 540 measures (bills and joint resolutions) were introduced in the Senate since the first day of session on Jan. 8. Of those, nearly 100 were introduced this week. As the gavel fell upon conclusion of the eighth week of session, 62 Senate bills have been voted out of their respective Senate committees, 37 bills and three joint resolutions have received the Senate’s final approval, eight have been assigned to their respective House committees, and seven have received House committee hearings and have since been reported “do pass.” To see a complete list of Senate bills for the 2014 legislative session, visit www.senate.mo.gov and click on the “List of 2014 Senate Bills” under the “Legislation” tab. |
