JEFFERSON CITY — Members from the upper chamber were recently named to serve on the conference committee that will consider final negotiations on many of the bills that make up Missouri’s $24 billion operating budget for Fiscal Year 2013.

Senate Appropriations Chairman Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia; Sen. Dan. Brown, R-Rolla; Sen. Will Kraus, R-Lee’s Summit; Sen. Timothy Green, D-Spanish Lake; and Sen. Shalonn “Kiki” Curls, D-Kansas City, will serve on the conference committees for HB 2002-2013.

House Budget Chairman Ryan Silvey, R-Kansas City; Rep. Rick Stream, R-Kirkwood; Rep. Sara Lampe, D-Springfield; Rep. Chris Kelly, D-Columbia; and Rep. Lincoln Hough, R-Springfield, will join these five senators for most of the conference committees.  In addition, Rep. Genise Montecillo, D-St. Louis, and Rep. Tom Flanigan, R-Carthage, will also serve on the conference committees for several bills.

These budget conference committees could meet as early as today, Wednesday, May 2.  House Bill 2001, which addresses public debt, has received final approval in both chambers.  In addition, a supplemental measure, HB 2014, which authorizes an additional $131 million in expenditures for the 2012 fiscal year, received final approval in the General Assembly and was signed by the governor last week.
