Legislative Column for the Week of Jan. 29, 2015
My Capitol staff and I pose for a photo during a busy day of work in the Missouri Senate.

JEFFERSON CITY —When constituents reach out to my office, the first folks they deal with are my Capitol staff. I am pleased to introduce Daniel Kleinsorge, my chief of staff and Karen Roach, my legislative assistant.

Daniel joined my office last fall after accepting a job as my chief of staff. Daniel has worked for two former members of the Missouri House of Representatives, including Speaker Pro Tem Carl Bearden and Rep. Wanda Brown, and has also served as an executive director for an agriculture lobby group.

Daniel is very knowledgeable in a variety of political arenas including speech writing, fundraising, agriculture and more. He has a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share information with others.

Karen has worked with me for quite some time. Her accounting skills lead her to apply for a job with my family at Schatz Underground, Inc., and she transitioned with me when I first joined the House of Representatives. I was very lucky to have her agree to follow me to the Senate side of this Capitol.

As a wife and the mother of a four-year-old and a seven-year-old she is quite the busy lady at home as well. Her family enjoys the outdoors, especially riding dirt bikes on vast trails at their rural home. Her family also has two boa constrictors. No matter what, I can guarantee you Karen is always here, ready and willing to help.
