JEFFERSON CITY — Senator Rob Schaaf, R-St. Joseph, was appointed chairman of the General Laws and Pension Committee by President Pro Temp Sen. Tom Dempsey, R-St. Charles.

“I am honored to have been appointed chairman of this committee,” Sen. Schaaf said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to help shape legislation that will positively impact all Missourians.”

Sen. Dempsey said the chairmen of each committee will act as a leader to find solutions to move Missouri forward in a prudent, positive manner.

“I’m happy to put my support behind Sen. Schaaf as chairman of the General Laws and Pensions Committee. Senator Schaaf has proven he can lead discussions on programs that will be most beneficial and valuable to Missourians,” said Sen. Dempsey. “The work done in committees is no small undertaking and carries many responsibilities. With new challenges this year, I have no doubt we will have a successful legislative session.”
