Fall in Mountain Grove

Fall is a busy time of year in the Ozarks. The leaves turn colors, weather cools and we find ourselves preparing for winter. However, the best part of fall in the Ozarks are the events that bring together our area’s finest artisans and citizens. This past week I had the pleasure of attending several events in the area that were filled with talent and fellowship that should be remembered for some time.

Friday, Oct. 1, I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Ozark Area Network’s 50th anniversary. It was a pleasure to attend the event and celebrate an organization with such a respected standing in this community. With six area radio stations, and a website that offers residents of the 33rd District the most up-to-date news and community information, there is a lot to celebrate with this group of business owners and dedicated employees. I’ve spent many hours over the years listening to countless newscasts on my way to and from home, and still do today.

Mountain Grove’s Autumn Fest was held Oct. 3. It was a cold, but wonderful day and after attending the festival I definitely felt like fall had arrived. Food vendors provided a variety of choices that left nothing to be desired. Crafters’ and artisans’ wonderful creations displayed a wide range of talent and imagination in booths around the town square.

As always, I appreciate it when groups from around Missouri and from our community back home come to visit me at the Capitol. If you would like to arrange a time to come and visit me in Jefferson City, or if you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact my Capitol office at (573) 751-1882.
