Senator Sifton Sponsors Gubernatorial Appointees

JEFFERSON CITY — Today (3-5), state Sen. Scott Sifton, D-Affton, sponsored the appointment of Tracy Mulderig as a student representative of the University of Missouri Board of Curators and Larry Newcomb as a member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. Both appointments are subject to full Missouri Senate approval.

“We are very fortunate to have such dedicated people in our area, and I know both Tracy and Larry will excel in their new roles,” Sen. Sifton said. “The student representative on the Board of Curators has a unique job that allows the board to better understand the goings on at the schools under the University of Missouri’s umbrella. The Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board continues to serve a vital purpose in assisting law enforcement in its role and will be better served, once fully staffed again.”

The Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board provides an independent review of child abuse and neglect determinations in instances in which the alleged perpetrator is aggrieved by the decision of the Children's Division.

The Board of Curators, the governing body of the University of Missouri, consists of nine members.
