Senator David Pearce Receives Chamber of Commerce Award for Supporting Economic Development in Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY—Senator David Pearce, R-Warrensburg, was recently recognized by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce for his staunch support of economic development measures during the 2014 legislative session. The award, presented at the Chamber’s annual meeting and awards banquet in St. Louis, is given to lawmakers who are the strongest supporters of pro-jobs legislation.

“I’m honored to receive this award from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, an admirable organization that has dedicated itself to fostering job growth in our state,” said Sen. Pearce. “As lawmakers, we have a duty to create an economic climate in this state that encourages business expansion. We made great strides toward that goal this year, and it was a privilege to support those efforts.”

Each year, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce recognizes elected officials who have a perfect voting record on legislation that seeks to create economic growth and quality jobs for Missourians. Senator Pearce was one of only 18 lawmakers from both chambers to receive a 100 percent rating this year.

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established nearly 90 years ago. Today, the group provides effective representation before the Legislature, offers services to help businesses grow, and works with youth to develop future business leaders in Missouri.
