Legislative Column for Oct. 3, 2014

My Time in Mountain Grove

It has been a wonderful two weeks in Mountain Grove. Over the last two week I have had the pleasure to meet and talk about important legislation and hear concerns from many of you.

I attended the Farm Bureau Dinner and enjoyed listening to many good ideas, thoughts and suggestions. Plus, a good dinner never hurt anyone!

Anytime a groundbreaking ceremony is held I am happy to attend. It reminds me of the sense of pride I would feel when my business, Cunningham’s Fresh Foods, had reached a goal or milestone. The groundbreaking at First Home Bank was the same. Congratulations on all of your hard work.

AutumnFest was another great day spent in Mountain Grove. Vendors, contests and great food, plus the wonderful weather made for a great day at the festival. It is nice to see the hard work and creativity of so many people come together for so many others to enjoy!

Food, friends and great weather greeted those who attended the 34th annual Farmer’s Day in Norwood.  Farming is a way of the life in the 33rd District and this celebration is one of my favorites.  The gospel music was especially impressive, as was the car show at the town square. I truly enjoy events like these and especially the down-home atmosphere of this event, which reminds me of the hard work so many of you do on a daily basis.

As always, I appreciate it when groups from around Missouri and from our community back home come to visit me at the Capitol, however during interim I may be in district. If you would like to arrange a time to come and visit me in Jefferson City, or if you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact my Capitol office at (573) 751-1882.
