Senate Leader Appoints Colleague
to the Missouri Tourism Commission

JEFFERSON CITY – Senator Leader Tom Dempsey, R-St. Charles, appointed Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, to the Missouri Tourism Commission on Thursday. Brown will join nine other members on the commission that meets four times a year. The commission is tasked to lead Missouri in becoming one of America’s most memorable tourist destinations.

“Senator Brown will bring a fresh prospective to the tourism commission, especially tourism in the lake region,” said Dempsey. “His commitment to working with his constituents in that area has made him extremely knowledgeable in the struggles they face regarding tourism.”

Members on the commission are also responsible for creating economic development and jobs as a result of promoting the Show-Me State.

“I am honored to be appointed to the Missouri Tourism Commission,” said Brown. “Since 2010, I have spent an extensive amount of time in the lake region addressing many of the residents’ concerns with tourism. I hope to add the insight I have gained from working with those constituents to help drive tourism to our wonderful and beautiful state.”
