Senator Wallingford Proud to Announce Signing of Sahara's Law

JEFFERSON CITY—Senator Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, is proud to announce that Senate Bill 35, also known as Sahara’s Law, has been signed into law.  The bill will create a check-off box on tax returns and create a Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund, which will distribute all contributions to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.

“It was an honor to carry this bill, and I am delighted that it has been signed into law,” said Sen. Wallingford.  “I want to thank everyone who helped move this bill through the legislative process and put Sahara’s Law into the statute books.  It is my hope that the funds raised from this check-off program will help promote research for cures regarding pediatric cancer and help heal children across the world.”

With the governor’s signature, Senate Bill 35 will go into effect on Aug. 28.
