Doug Libla Congratulates FCCLA Legislative Job Shadow

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Doug Libla, R-Poplar Bluff, welcomed Amanda Edgar, a senior from Portageville High School, to the State Capitol last week, and would to commend Edgar on her interest in the Missouri Legislature and its role in setting public policy that focuses on family, work and social issues for the citizens of the Show-Me State.

“It makes me extremely proud to see youth from our area want to get involved in state government and see how the work at their State Capitol impacts public policy,” said Sen. Libla.  “I would like to congratulate Ms. Edgar on being selected one of 60 students from across Missouri to participate in this wonderful program that allows young citizens to see the legislative process firsthand.  I hope her visit to Jefferson City and close-up interaction with her lawmakers sparks a further interest within public service.”

The “Legislative Shadowing Program,” operated by the Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), celebrated its 13th year of bringing students throughout the state together to develop awareness of current local, state and national issues, especially those topics relating to families.
