Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 176 - This act provides that administrative rules may not be more restrictive than necessary to accomplish the purpose of the underlying statute. Each rulemaking agency shall adopt procedures to determine whether rulemaking is necessary based upon empirical data and the procedures shall include an assessment of the effectiveness of the rule.

A provision is repealed that holds the requirements above in abeyance for as long as Executive Order 97-97 is in effect.
