Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 90 - This act clarifies the residency requirements for aldermen in fourth class cities. The change will require residency in the ward the alderman represent from the time of the filing for office throughout service. Current law establishes the requirements for election as residency in the city for one year prior to the election, and in the ward from which the person is elected.

This act is the same as SCS/HB 476 (1999).
