SCS/SB 632 - This act expands health care coverage to include all uninsured children under the age of 19 with available incomes up to three times the federal poverty level. Uninsured children are defined as children having no access to private health care insurance for six months prior to application. Covered children must be residents of Missouri.

The act also authorizes the Department of Social Services to commission a study on the negative impact this expansion in benefits may have on the number of individuals covered by private insurance. If a negative impact is found, the Department is authorized to implement several remedies. These include: the implementation of cost sharing provisions, increasing the required period of one's uninsured status, and limiting enrollment to an annual open enrollment period.
