HB 1201 -- Neighbor Assistance Program CO-SPONSORS: Summers, DeMarce COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Ways and Means by a vote of 20 to 0. This bill expands the definition of community service allowing neighborhood assistance funds to be used for transportation services at below cost rates for the elderly and disabled. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill will lay the groundwork for obtaining additional resources for community public transportation development. Testifying for the bill were Representatives Summers and DeMarce; Older Adults Transportation Service Inc.; Audrey Lyons; Bob Hughes; Heartland Resources; Missouri Cattlemen's Association; and the Silver-haired Legislature.
